GMK Bronze Y Strainer Valve
A Y strainer often called a wye strainer, is a device used to filter fluids and mechanically remove solids and other particles. They play a crucial role in a wide variety of fluid control applications, protecting downstream parts from fluid particles. A Y strainer, which is also known as a “Y” strainer, is a type of strainer used to remove particles from fluids such as steam, gas, or liquid. A filter element, often consisting of mesh, perforated metal, or a wedge wire straining element, facilitates this mechanical straining process. Wire mesh is by far the most prevalent type of straining element. Some models additionally feature “blow-off valves” that facilitate the cleaning procedure while dealing with heavier dirt blowing. The actual strainer has a compact Y form. Because the fluid is able to move through the filter with less of a need to change directions, the Y shape provides superior flow characteristics over, say, a T-shaped strainer.
