GMK Bronze Swing Check Valve
In a GMK Bronze Swing Check Valve forward flow is permitted while backflow is prevented. In situations requiring homogeneous flow in only one direction, it proves to be a reliable solution. A swing check valve has a disc, a seat, and a hinge. When a certain volume of fluid is being moved through the system per unit of time, the disc will rotate to the horizontal position, allowing forward flow. When the flow has stopped, it goes back to its place in the valve. There are numerous disc and seat configurations available to guarantee process media compatibility and application-specific needs. For a check valve to open, there must be a certain amount of pressure coming from upstream. Among engineers, this lowest possible pressure is commonly known as the braking pressure. The minimum flow rate a check valve needs to operate reliably varies with the valve size. That’s why it’s important to size them appropriately for their intended use and environment.
